December 23, 2008Have you been naughty or nice this christmas
December 22, 2008I had this idea of doing a shoot for Christmas but instead of having just the plain of cute girl theme like they always do I thought I make it a little different. Initially there was suppose to be more then a model..but due to god knows whats the real reason I was left with one model, Rae. If you are ever reading this Rae, thanks a lot for the shoot and hopefully we will work again together in future.
Back to my concept/theme that I had in mind was to show 2 sides of these santarina’s (which now I only have a Santarina). The good and evil side…we often see santarina being the sweet, innocent looking girls but I thought it would be nice to show/reveal the other side of them which is a little naughty and probably sexy?seductive?

This time low-key shots was more of a challenge..really made me think of how to position the model and where the light should fall. I think I should do more of these shots next time..they are definitely more challenging and would require more time.
Christmas Fashion Show @ Midvalley (Part 2)
December 10, 2008Here’s more pictures of day 2…I was only there for 1 session though, pictures from NICHII set
I think I’m alot more happier with day 2 pics as I’m a lil more familiar with the camera. I also realize my mistake in using one shot mode instead of ai servo.
Also found out that the 50D AF-on button does come in handy especially those who lose to set their C.Fn 04, do check out this link on why its useful.

Christmas Fashion Show @ Midvalley (Part 1)

It was a good chance for me to test my 50D ability..and to my suprise. The high ISO bump was really good. Along with using the “strong” noise reduction option the noise was even less obvious. Comparing to the Nikon D90 at ISO 1600 I would say my ISO 2000 was alot better. Deny as you may Nikon users but this 50D is definately better then D90. Reason I’m saying this is because some brand bias dude was telling me that the D90 beats Canon 50D flat out..which didn’t really show so when I saw his pictures in his LCD.
I’m no fan boy but the fact is showing. Anyways… I only shot two session on Saturday which was the Phenomenal and Eclipse, oh yea.. I did take a few shots of the Hair show and then went off.

Reminiscing the past of uncertainty
December 3, 2008Don’t know what made me go through my old pictures all of a sudden..maybe because in a matter of days I’ll be parting with my camera? I remember going through these sets of picture which I took quite sometime ago, August 2nd to be exact. Last I recall I wasn’t very happy with those shots as it was a really cloudy day in KL city.
So as I was browsing through these sets of pictures this particular one hit me..kind of er…shows how I feel at the moment..I’m not too sure why but it reminds or shows me my current feeling…

Graceful dancer?
December 2, 2008This shot was taken on the 27 October 2008, was in Cheras Leisure Mall where this dance school was promoting itself and having some sort of convocation. So there were some performance and I was there with my out of focused camera…testing out how bad it was..turned out it was bad..it had some serious focusing issue..but it’s all okay now..sent it to canon and they recalibrated it..
here’s one shot which I kinda like…actually I like how this gal looked shes really really young and doesn’t look as old as her age.
I also did some editing to this pic…a slight feel of desaturation…I’m not quite liking it..I feel something is missing.
An UPGRADE~!
December 2, 2008oh yea…I’ve finally upgraded..happy happy…also broke broke…sigh..now got to tie my belt for another year or two. Selling or should I say I’ve already sold my lovely and beloved Canon 400D to someone, but at the moment it’s still with me..so I got to spend the very last few days with it before we part from each other. Holding the Canon 50D for a few hours on the same day I bought it also made me realize that this camera is damn heavy once mounted my Sigma 24-70mm and my flash.
Oh yea..I also got to shoot a wedding dinner on the same day I got my camera..which was a good test..risky as well since I’m not too familiar with the camera..but its a Canon system..shouldn’t be that bad la..I guess.

ps: will post the wedding pics soon enough…LOL soon in my dictionary isn’t really that soon.

and just for the record, whatever people been saying about the 50D, how bad it is and all…well it’s not entirely true…its infact great! I would’nt give up the 400D if I had the money..it’s small and nice and easy to bring around…also it’s capable of taking good shots…but I need the money to fund this 50D and now I got a wider range of ISO…which was what I wanted.
