Butterfly Farm

March 30, 2009

A continuation from my previous post here. My shots on some butterfly and other stuff with a Canon 100mm Macro and a Sigma 150mm macro lens. I’ve also came to respect these macro shooters as they really need super steady hands to do these shots. It was easy and all at first but after 4 hours or more…you can really feel you hands not listening to you.

hello world!

It seems that the colorful butterflies don’t quite like taking pictures and the ones which has dark colors love to..reason said is because they seem to keep flying whenever you are near and the black ones wont move at all no matter how near you approach it.

On Monday 19 January 2009,  I have to say it was really not wise to leave the house at 7am to butterfly farm and bird park, not only because its a working day but also because it was not too long when school just started…got stuck in a massive traffic jam but at the end of the day… It was almost well worth it, as I’ve discovered some new things on my camera :)

I didn’t know Canon would make wild life look so good. I knew about their more “reddish” color, but I didn’t know it affected blue, green as well..well maybe not as red as er..red..but yea..I’m not too sure how to say it but it does show a different compared to the other camera’s that I’m looking at.

So here’s a preview of a caterpillar I shot in the bird park, taken by a macro lens. Sigma 150mm to be exact. I’ve also learned that macro is not at all easy..keeping my hands till on such a tiny lil thing is no easy task..especially when you’re been shooting for hours.

Here’s a couple of pics from the bird park…see what I mean about the colors? These pictures are not edited in any single way, only resized and watermarked.
